The Canon PC65 is not quite as compact and portable as some of Canon's smaller models, but still manages to be small enough for home use and to be occasionally taken along for use outside the office. The Canon PC65 comes with a slim control panel where users can find a small display and buttons for frequent tasks that make it quick and easy to use.

The Canon PC65 toner cartridges are very affordable. Using compatible Canon PC65 toner is another simple way to reduce costs even more. However, it is hard to find good quality compatible PC65 toners due to the difficulties in finding premium components and perfecting re-manufacturing process for this particular model. The use of compatible toners does not void the printer warranty.

Compared to other models on the market, the PC65 falls behind a bit in speed and features, but it makes up for it with its slim design, making this model suitable for small office and home users.
