HP LaserJet 5 Printer Review:
The HP LaserJet 5 is a monochrome
laser printer designed for the small or medium office environment. The HP
LaserJet 5 printer has a monthly duty cycle of 35,100 pages. The printer
measures 11.8 inches X 17.4 inches X 16 inches and weighs about 37 pounds.
The main drawer for the HP
LaserJet 5 printer has a capacity of 250 sheets, and the multipurpose tray has
a capacity of up to 100 sheets, depending on the media. A 500 sheet additional
tray can be added if desired. The HP LaserJet 5 printer comes with 4 MB of RAM
and can be upgraded to a maximum of 66 MB if desired.
There are two toner models for the
HP LaserJet 5 printer – 92298A and 92298X. The 92298A comes with 6,800 page
yield at 5% coverage and the higher yield 92298X comes with 8,800 page yield at
5% coverage. Users can seek for high quality re-manufactured toners to further save
on printing expenses. A well made compatible cartridge should work as well as
name brand counterparts. In addition, the use of compatible cartridges does not
void the printer warranty.
Print quality is excellent for HP
LaserJet 5 printer, partly due to 600 dpi printing engine. Text is sharp and
defined. However, graphics might not be as satisfactory.
