HP LaserJet 5000 Printer Review:
The HP LaserJet 5000 is a
monochrome printer designed for the home or small office users. The HP LaserJet
5000 printer measures 19 inches X 12 inches X 13 inches and weighs about 50 pounds
with the toner cartridge. The initial paper capacity for the HP LaserJet 5000 printer
is 250 sheets in the main tray and 100 sheets in the multipurpose tray. Users
can expand the capacity with additional drawer for either 250-sheet or
500-sheet load.
There is no ethernet port for the
HP LaserJet 5000 printer. However, the JetDirect print server can be added
either internally or externally for connecting the printer directly to a
network. The standard memory for the HP LaserJet 5000 printer is 4 Mb and can
be upgraded up to 100 MB if desired. The
5000 is the base model, other variations including 5000DN, 5000GN, and 5000N.
The toner cartridge for the HP
LaserJet 5000 printer can last 10,000 pages at 5% coverage. Users can find high
quality compatible tone in the market to further save on printing expenses. In
fact, a well made compatible toner should work as well as name brand
counterparts. In addition, the use of compatible cartridges does not void the
printer warranty.
Print speed for the HP LaserJet
5000 printer can go as fast as 16 pages per minute. First page out time is about
13 seconds. Print quality is excellent for the HP LaserJet 5000 printer, partly
thanks to its 1200 dpi printing engine with HP's ImageREt enhancement
technology.
