HP LaserJet 9040 Printer Review: The HP LaserJet 9040 printer is
designed for large office environments. The HP LaserJet 9040 printer comes with
1,000-sheet paper capacity and can be expanded up to 3,100 sheets if needed.
The 64 MB of RAM comes as standard for the HP LaserJet 9040 printer. The RAM
can also be upgraded up to 512 MB if needed. There is an optional 20 GB hard
disk allowing users to store documents directly on the unit for archiving or later
printing.
The HP LaserJet 9040 printer is
the base model, other variations including 9040DN, 9040MFP, and 9040N. The
9040N includes networking function and the 9040DN includes both networking and
automatic duplexing functions.
The HP LaserJet 9040 printer connects
via parallel port as a standard feature. Users can upgrade to other connection
such as Ethernet or through the 802.11b technology if desired.
There are two toner cartridges for the HP
LaserJet 9040 printer. Both the toner and the MICR toner can print up to 30,000 pages at 5% coverage. Users can seek for
high quality re-manufactured cartridge at a much more affordable price. In
fact, a well made compatible toner should work as well as name brand
counterparts. In addition, the use of compatible cartridges does not void the
printer warranty.
Printer speed for the HP LaserJet
9040 printer can go up to 40 pages per minute. Print quality is good for both
text and graphics.
